In all those moments of craziness sometimes we have some very sweet moments too. My oldest child is an absolute gem in the mornings. She takes care with both her baby brothers each morning feeding them breakfast and often even getting them dressed. My 13 year old can incite a gigglefest by playing 'en guards' or 'poppers' with his 3 yearold brother. These are some sweet moments to hear as a Mama.
And then, some days when I'm really lucky, they save their sweet moments for me. The other day we were in the land of make believe. My 3 year old loves to pretend he is a doctor. He actually loves this so much that I bought him a real stethoscope when the plastic one finally broke. He checked my temperature, gave me a needle (well many, many needles), lovingly gave me some medicine before he listened to my heart. With complete earnestness and doe-like eyes, he looked up at me and said, "Mommy, there's music in your heart." *sigh* And now my heart's meltiong. You got me kid.
No mater how old you get, you will always be someone's baby. And overhearing tender moments between my children and having those moments myself is this morning's awesome. <3
Happy Valentine's Day!
